My Story
Who I Am
Since I began my professional journey, I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to have worked on some exciting solo and collaborative projects. I take pride in all that I do including the long-term relationships that I have fostered in the process. I believe that hard work eventually pays off, and I know that with each day the effort that I put in will bring me closer to reaching my goals. I have spent the last two years in China gaining vital experience in sales and marketing. I have now returned to the UK to pursue a career in estate agency, which I believe will give me the best environment to apply my skills and reach my potential. I will bring enthusiasm and dedication while performing ‘First-Class’ customer service as I proceed in my role.

China 2016 - Present
For the last 24 months, I have been living in China, Hebei province, in a city called Shijiazhuang. During my time here, I have taken advantage of what I believe to be a rare opportunity and experience first-hand the depths of the Chinese culture. I have learnt to speak Mandarin and had all sorts of life changing experiences, which I'm confident will benefit me in the future. I also used the opportunity to engage in as many volunteer positions as possible in order to gain in depth real-world experience.

Employment History and Experience

Irradiant English - Principal / Sales Executive (2016 - Present)
One of my main projects whilst staying in China has been the ‘Irradiant Education Centre’. This was a volunteer role which I held for over two years. As acting Principle, I boosted my teamwork and organization skills to a new level. This project has given me the insight of the process needed to build a business from scratch, particularly from a sales/marketing point of view.
Key responsibilities as Principal / Sales Executive:
-
Attending business meetings to expand and gain new partners
-
Dealing with sales to potential clients (giving presentations and demo classes)
-
Creating advertisement materials (short trailers, leaflets, floor standing ads and online content)
-
Management of staff
-
Organization of class schedules
-
Syllabus and content selection
-
Delivering teacher training
Barry Johnson LTD - On-Course Sales Representative (2014 - 2016)
My role in the Barry Johnson firm was of high pressure and high responsibility. I was an On-Course Representative accepted by the RBA and was able to solely represent Barry Johnson on racecourses across the UK. I worked at all high-end race meetings including; Royal Ascott, Cheltenham Festival, The Grand National and The Derby. I would be in control of a small team of around five employees and was primarily responsible for face to face sales and customer relations.
Key responsibilities as On-Course Sales Representative:
-
Dealing with face to face customer sales
-
Ensuring high intake of cash flow
-
Promoting highly competitive odds/prices and keeping on top of a fast-paced market.
-
Negotiating high stake deals with competitors to ensure a balanced book.
-
Analysing data to eliminate potential financial risks
-
Networking with clients and securing long term relations.
In order to succeed in Bookmaking, one has to be very alert at all times and think extremely fast as odds are always changing and large amounts of money and transactions happen at high speeds. This experience really helped me to conquer any fear of working under pressure. Thinking fast and acting accordingly is essential in this line of work, this soon became second nature to me and is now a skill in which I continuously apply. This experience was also very client focused and boosted my customer service skills.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy photography and always look for photo opportunities and experience. I have a passionate interest and love for anything creative. I am a confident pianist; having achieved my ATCL performance diploma and graduating with a performance-based degree from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I enjoy teaching, performing and recording classical music in my spare time. Recently I recorded the complete Chopin Waltzes in the Adrian Bolt Hall for my debut album. As a contrast from the creativity side, I also enjoy sports. I have always been very active and have played golf, football and table tennis all at a fairly high standard. I also like long distance running and being part of the sporting community.
